The University of Central Lancashire is offering PhD (via MPhil) Studentship in Astronomy or Astrophysics. The studentship is open to UK and EU students at the Jeremiah Horrocks Institute.

The University of Central Lancashire is a public university based in Preston, Lancashire, England. It has its roots in The Institution for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge founded in 1828.

Course Level: Studentship is available for pursuing full-time PhD (via MPhil) programme.

Study Subject: Studentship is awarded in Astronomy or Astrophysics.

Scholarship Award: The studentship is funded by STFC and is tenable for up to 3.5 years full-time [subject to satisfactory progress] and will cover the cost of tuition fees at UK/EU rates and a maintenance grant (14,296 at 2016/17 rates). Eligibility: Candidates should have (or expect to hold) a UK Bachelor of Science degree at 2:1 or above in a related area (or equivalent qualification), or a Masters level qualification (e.g. MSc or MPhys).

Nationality: UK/EU students can apply for the studentship.

College Admission Requirement

English Language Requirement: EU applicants require an English Language level of UKVI IELTs 6.5 (no sub-score below 6.0) or equivalent qualification.
